DUI accused the Albanian parties form the opposition that they have abandoned the alliance they established back in 2016, after not a single one of the leaders of the Albanian parties in Macedonia turned up at the meeting organised by DUI leader Ali Ahmeti last Thursday. “The leaders of all Albanian parties held a similar meeting back in 2016, after the parliament election that was held that year, at which we agreed to hold such meetings after each parliamentary election in order to coordinate and reaffirm our programmes and positions for improvement of the position of Albanians in North Macedonia. But now, in 2020, all these party leaders seem to have forgotten their pledges and promises. Instead, they line up before Zaev waiting for negotiations and opportunity to become part of the new government, and by that devaluing negotiating positions of Albanian,” writes an announcement from DUI.
