Lawyer in Centar Violence Case: Janakieski Charge should be Withdrawn

The trial over the 2013 Violence in Centar case continued on Monday. Lawyer Dimitar Dangov said in his closing argument that the charge against former minister Mile Janakieski should be withdrawn because evidence didn’t exist that showed he had commited a crime. According to him, even if it is not a withdrawn, the Criminal Court will need to find his client not guilty. Elenko Milanov, another representative of Janakieski, claims that if his client had been a close associate of former PM Nikola Gruevski, who’s one of the defendants in the case, his phone wouldn’t have been wire-tapped. “Judge, how will you charge him with something that didn’t happen? He’s a father of tree. He’s not involved in any violence,” Milanov pointed out. The verdict will be announced on Tuesday.
