Government and Opposition with Different Positions About Online Sessions

VMRO-DPMNE does not reject the government’s idea of online Parliamentary sessions for COVID-positive MPs. However, they say the constitutionality of the laws that those MPs would vote on could be challenged by the Constitutional Court. Instead of making decisions at the Parliament dependent on the slim majority, the opposition proposes that the ruling majority consult with the opposition and jointly vote on laws by consensus. The ruling majority insists on a solution as soon as possible, because without a functioning Parliament serious problem would have been created. DUI believes that the Parliament should consider the possibility of amending the Rules of Procedure in terms of specification, which in fact is understood by the word presence of MPs, whether it is physical presence or online. Currently, three MPs are positive for the coronavirus.
