FM Osmani Meets Slovenian Colleague Logar

The organization of the first Intergovernmental Conference by the end of the year will be the only logical outcome and valorisation of all reform efforts of the Government of Macedonia and its constructive policy in relations with its neighbours, said Monday the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, Anze Logar after meeting with his Macedonian colleague, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani. At a joint press conference after the meeting in Ljubljana, Logar reaffirmed Slovenia’s strong support for Macedonia’s European integration. “Our expectations are high. I think that we and the citizens rightly expect the finalization of the negotiation framework and the holding of the Intergovernmental Conference during the German Presidency of the EU, which will formally start the accession negotiations for membership with the Union by the end of this year,” said Minister Osmani. He expressed confidence that following the example of other countries that have joined the EU in the last two decades, such as Slovenia, with a positive approach and openness, will overcome the challenges with neighbouring Bulgaria.
