Dimitrov: We Shall Convince Sofia that our Language Cannot be Obstacle

Deputy PM for European Affairs Nikola Dimitrov took part on Thursday in an online conference titled “Western Balkans and their EU-integration – Challenges and possibilities”, organised by the European Balkan Fund, BiEPAG and the Danish Foreign Policy Institute. At the conference, Dimitrov referred to the Bulgarian blockade for the adoption of the EU membership negotiation framework for Macedonia’s EU-integration. “We will not stop with our efforts to find solutions to the bilateral problems. We remain dedicated to the implementation of the Good-neighbourliness Agreement, but we cannot conduct negotiations over our language and identity. We must not let historical matters to be discussed by politicians, they should be left to historians,” Dimitrov said.
