Spasovski: Introduction of Curfew Possible if Conditions Demand It

Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski said in an interview for Sitel TV that the management of a state of crisis on the entire territory of Macedonia is a quite complex process. “In the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic we had a state of emergency because the Parliament was not functioning, hence the more restrictive measures in that period. Throughout this period, we were analysing the situation and building a strategy to deal with it, and now we are implementing it on terrain. The state of crisis allows us to use and employ all capacities of the state institutions, as well as to involve the private sector, in order to protect the life and well-being of all citizens. The introduction of a curfew still remains as an option in case the numbers of new COVID-19 cases and deaths keep on growing, and if the citizen in general do not stick to the anti-COVID-19 measures. These decisions however can be adopted only with recommendations by the State Infectious Diseases Committee,” Spasovski explained.
