Reactions to Planned Primary Education Reform Continue

According to the Interior Ministry, the reforms being prepared in primary education don’t mean annulment of any scientific discipline. As it said in a press-release on Thursday, they are based on modern concepts and approaches, with the goal being students acquiring knowledge from all areas – history, geography or content from another discipline. “However, that will be in a manner adjusted to their age,” the institution added. On the other hand, the Trade Union of Education, Science and Culture believes that the Ministry shouldn’t rush the concept for integration of subjects. Similarly, according to Democratic Alliance, merging the history and geography subjects is an insufficiently studied and rash measure.
