Foreign Minister Osmani Visits Vienna and Meets Counterpart Schallenberg

On Monday, during his visit to Austria, Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani held a meeting with his counterpart, Alexander Schallenberg, whom he thanked for Vienna’s continued and unreserved support for Macedonia’s European perspective, including also a start of membership negotiations without any delay. “We’re aware – the process is complex,” Osmani said, adding that reaching consensus was not simple. Not only is Macedonia not giving up, but also it has constantly said publicly that it is ready to continue to work committedly on reforms, good-neighbourly relations, and all challenges that will appear until full-fledged EU membership, according to him. Schallenberg, on his part, said his country’s stand was that bilateral and historical issues shouldn’t be part of the negotiations process.
