On Monday, Turkish Parliament Speaker Mustafa Sentop held a meeting in Skopje with his counterpart, Talat Xhaferi. According to the latter, the Macedonia-Turkey relations are at the highest level and have an upwards trend, especially at a political, economic, and cultural level. As Xhaferi added, the good and friendly relations are reflected in the productive parliamentary cooperation as well. Xhaferi expressed gratitude for Turkey’s support, primarily concerning defence, internal affairs, and NATO membership. As far as the latest developments on the EU path are concerned, he hopes the differences will be overcome soon. According to Sentop, Macedonia is of particular importance to his country. Turkey remains a strong supporter of Skopje’s EU integration path. In the frames of his activities, Sentop also met PM Zoran Zaev and President Stevo Pendarovski.
