Health Minister Filipce Comments on Several Coronavirus-Related Topics

Health Minister Venko Filipce said on Thursday that the doses of vaccines from Pfizer had already been reserved, adding that the first shipment was expected to arrive in February. As he added, vaccines through the COVAX system are expected to arrive in the same period as well. Asked why the doses expected through the European Commission’s mechanism for solidarity hadn’t arrived, Filipce stated that though it was possible for Austria, Bulgaria, Poland, and Greece to send some amount of their respective vaccines, the countries were clearly telling authorities in Skopje why that still hadn’t been done so far, that is, the problem was in the amount received by them. In that regard, he added that it was significantly smaller, around 10% of the planned one.
