Osmani to Landsbergis: We Expect Start of EU Negotiations

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Macedonia, Bujar Osmani, had a video meeting with his counterpart from the Republic of Lithuania, Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis, with an emphasis on the European file of the country. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the new enlargement methodology was discussed, the efforts to harmonize the negotiating framework based on respect for basic European values ​​and standards are aimed at its adoption and holding the first intergovernmental conference with the EU. In this context, it is stated, Lithuania remains open to transfer of experience, expertise and knowledge in the implementation of European policies. The Lithuanian side expressed interest in participating with experts in twinning projects with emphasis on public finance, labour market, administration, cyber security and similar. It was jointly assessed that the economic cooperation lags behind the political one and that it should be worked on, according to the statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
