Zaharieva: Macedonian Foreign Policy Not Compatible to That of EU

Bulgarian Deputy PM and Foreign Affairs Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva stated for the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) that the political determinations of official Skopje towards Russia are barely compatible to those of EU. “The foreign policy of North Macedonia towards Russia is barely 50 % compatible to that of the EU. Serbia is very close, but still better, while Albania is far better than these two. It is important for the Western Balkans to determine their priorities clearly and decide whether they want to be members of NATO and EU,” Zaharieva concludes. This was followed by an immediate reaction by Deputy PM for European Affairs Nikola Dimitrov, who denied the claims of Zaharieva.
