Orthodox Easter Observed throughout Macedonia

Orthodox Easter was observed throughout Macedonia on Sunday. There had been activities the previous day, too. In Skopje, the Head of the Macedonian Orthodox Church, HH Stefan, and members of the Holy Synod urged compliance with the measures against the pandemic. However, though they called on believers to maintain distancing, they didn’t change the communion practice, that is, a single spoon and piece of butter was used. The number of believers was reduced due to the anti-COVID-19 protocols.  On the occasion of Easter, President Stevo Pendarovski, PM Zoran Zaev, Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi, SDSM Sec Gen Ljupco Nikolovski, VMRO-DPMNE President Hristijan Mickoski, DOM, Democratic Alliance, and Commission for Relations with Religious Communities and Religious Groups Darijan Sotirovski sent congratulatory messages.
