On Tuesday, PM Zoran Zaev, the EU’s Enlargement Commissioner, Oliver Varhelyi, and Austria’s EU and Constitution Minister, Karoline Edtstadler, paid a visit to the Boris Trajkovski Hall, which is the largest vaccination point in the country. The first vaccines from the EU arrived as well. According to Zaev, it’s about 4,850 Pfizer doses of the total of 119,213 that should arrive by August. In May, a total of 19,890 Pfizer vaccines should arrive, he added. The PM thanked EU for the solidarity. Varhelyi described the vaccines as a gift for North Macedonia’s citizens. As he pointed out, nobody is safe until everybody is safe. The Austrian Minister hopes everyone will be able to soon get back to normal. When it comes to Skopje’s EU road, Varhelyi, answering a journalist’s question, said whether the decoupling of Albania and North Macedonia was feasible or possible, the process was based on merit. Tirana has that they have complied with all the conditions, he also stated. “So, if there is no agreement in relation to North Macedonia, the moment might come when we will have to consider this option,” he stressed. However, the Commissioner hopes that won’t happen.
