Zaev: Changes Within SDSM Do Not Mean Changes Within Government

Prime Minister Zoran Zaev said in an interview for the public broadcaster MRTV that the staff changes within SDSM at the latest party congress do not announce a cabinet reshuffle. “The executive government is elected by the people in elections, and it cannot be changed like this. This also means that there will be no early parliamentary election. The narrow majority keeps the government alert. After the major feats and changes, we held election in 2020 to see if we still have the people’s support to lead this country, and the people had their say. We have made some bold moves, and we achieved a lot, we are members of NATO and we are about to start accession talks with the EU, once we remove the blockade from Bulgaria, and I call upon official Sofia to demonstrate European greatness towards us, their neighbours, and give us a chance to proceed with our EU accession process,” Zaev said.
