Accusations over Constitutional Court Judges Issue Continue

VMRO-DPMNE has said SDSM will nominate party officials as Constitutional Court judges. According to the opposition party, the procedure is unconstitutional. With letters to the international factor in the country, including also the EU Delegation Head, Ambassador David Geer, the party has asked for help, as it is explained, in preservation of the independence. It has also asked the factor to pledge for, it is added, depoliticisation of the highest organs in the country. VMRO-DPMNE’s Antonijo Milososki said on Wednesday that SDSM would nominate Parliament Sec Gen Cvetanka Ivanova and Bitola lawyer Vasko Talevski, who were members of the ruling party, something which was not allowed by the Constitution. The Chair of the Committee on Election and Appointment Issues, SDSM’s Kostadin Ksotadinov, said one couldn’t comment before a debate was opened at the session itself. In his view, VMRO-DPMNE’s only goal is to block every procedure at a preliminary level.
