Bulgaria Issue: Zaev Says Expectations Shouldn’t Be Too High

PM Zoran Zaev, accompanied by Deputy PM for European Affairs Nikola Dimitrov and Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani, will travel on Wednesday to Sofia. The delegation will meet the country’s President, Rumen Radev, caretaker PM, Stefan Yanev, and representatives of the bigger political parties. According to Zaev, the expectations shouldn’t be too high because Bulgaria currently doesn’t have a functional Parliament and political cabinet. However, there is a will for talks. “We have a quality proposal from the Portuguese Presidency. Our official position is that it is a good basis to reach a solution and Bulgaria’s official position is that it is a good basis to reach a solution. We should use that, if a solution is reached, great, if it is not, it will surely be a positive step forwards towards finding a solution as soon as the political government is formed,” he pointed out on Wednesday.
