No Need for Early Elections as Result of Bulgaria Situation, PM Zaev Says

PM Zoran Zaev believes that there is no need for early elections as a result of the new blockade from Bulgaria. As he said on Monday, North Macedonia has no territorial aspirations into its neighbours, while it’s important for Bulgaria to remove the blockade. Zaev expects positive signals from Brussels in December. The PM is adamant that there is nothing problematic when it comes to the items in the submitted proposal. Swifter and more efficient implementation of the 2017 Treaty is an obligation of the two sides. Regarding the Roadmap, the PM’s stand is that the 18-page document contains all aspects of the cooperation, including defence, economy, infrastructure, sports, and culture. That proposal for cooperation, Zaev added, was suggested by the Portuguese initiative, while Bulgaria accepted it.
