Opposition, Ruling Party Trade Accusations over New COVID-19 Restrictions

The opposition and the ruling party continue with the exchange of accusations over the latest developments with the COVID-19 pandemic in the country. According to VMRO-DPMNE, the latest anti-COVID measures introduced by the government introduce discrimination among the citizens. “Vaccines are safe and citizens should accept to take them, but the latest measures of PM Zoran Zaev and Health Minister Venko Filipce are utterly fascistic. According to them, only citizens vaccinated against COVID-19 can continue with normal life, while those that cannot be vaccinated for numerous justified reasons have to isolate themselves in their own homes, away from social life,” said VMRO-DPMNE Spokesperson Dimce Arsovski. From SDSM they reacted to the press conference of VMRO-DPMNE, stating that the new measures will function in favour of protection of the health of the citizens. “No one’s personal rights can be more important than the right of protection of the collective healthcare. Instead of calling upon the citizens to be responsible and respect the measures, Hristijan Mickoski once again aids the COVID-19 pandemic, and all his actions only bring more damages and misery to the citizens. We call upon all citizens to respect the restrictions and be responsible for their own health and the health of the people around them,” writes the reaction from SDSM.
