588 New COVID-19 Cases, 8 Deaths in Past 24 Hours

The Health Ministry informs that in the past 24 hours 5,780 COIVD-19 tests were conducted among citizens, and of them 588 turned positive. Of the new cases, 230 are registered in Skopje, 101 in Tetovo, 82 in Gostivar, 48 in Kicevo, 17 in Debar, 16 in Ohrid and Strumica, 15 in Kumanovo, 11 in Struga, 8 in Bitola, 6 in Sveti Nikole and Kavadarci, 5 in Berovo and Radvois, 4 in Veles and Valandovo, 3 in Stip and Vinica, 2 in Resen and Makedonski Brod and one in Prilep, Kocani, Demir Kapija and Pehcevo. In the same period, the Health Ministry also registered 26 patients who recovered from COVID-19 infection, as well as 8 deaths due to complications with COVID-19. So far in the country, 159,269 cases of COVID-19 have been registered, of which 150,613 have recovered, 3,135 are active, and 5,521 have passed away. On Wednesday, the Health Ministry opened in Skopje 4 additional vaccination points for COVID-19, in addition to the 3 existing ones, after the interest for vaccination increased among the citizens, mainly due to the new restrictions introduced by the government, which demand vaccination certificates for entering a restaurant of café if there are more than 30 people inside.
