296 New COVID-19 Cases, 8 Deaths in Past 24 Hours

The Health Ministry informs that in the past 24 hours 3,480 COVID-19 tests were conducted among citizens, of which 296 turned positive. Of the new cases, 143 are registered in Skopje, 60 in Gostivar, 23 in Kicevo, 11 in Strumica, 10 in Stip, 9 in Tetovo, 8 in Kumanovo, 6 in Struga, 5 in Ohrid, 3 in Prilep, Debar and Radovis, 2 in Bitola, Kocani, Negotino and Probistip and one in Veles, Kavadarci, Vinica and Kratovo. Over the past day, 109 patients were registered as recovered from COVID-19, while 8 have passed away. So far in the country, 162,457 cases of COVID-19 have been registered, of which 150,960 have recovered, 5,937 are currently active, while 5,560 have passed away. Health Minister Venko Filipce informed on Monday that the modular hospital located in the yard of the Clinic for Infectious Diseases will be once again put in function due to the increasing number of COVID-19 patients in the past few days. According to Filipce, the situation is most alarming in Tetovo and Gostivar, where at the moment there are 90 and 70 patients hospitalised at departments for infectious diseases respectively.
