Country to Take in 780 Refugees from Afghanistan Instead of 650

“The number of refugees from Afghanistan that Macedonia will receive has risen from 650 to 780,” said government spokesman Dusko Arsovski. They will be accommodated mainly in hotels on the outskirts of Skopje. “According to the latest figures, as the numbers have changed since yesterday, 780 Afghans are on the list. This is at the request of international organizations reaching the Government. 780 citizens arrive, for which the Government undertakes the obligation to provide accommodation, to take care of them and to help them to spend this period of 90 days easier here. With regard to hotels, it is the responsibility of international organizations to cover the costs. Most of them will be located on the outskirts of Skopje,” said spokesman Arsovski.
