Friday’s working meeting in Skopje between Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani and OSCE Secretary General Helga Maria Schmid was used generally for issues related to the process of organisation and OSCE Chairmanship of Macedonia in 2023. “We expect a filled and constructive agenda, and successful Chairmanship in 2023. The Chairmanship of the Organisation will seriously contribute towards strengthened positioning of the country in international frames as a constructive actor and serious contributor to preserving peace, stability, and cooperation,” Osmani said. North Macedonia, Schmid pointed out, contributes to security and has already achieved great progress in the last years with regards to reforming its legislation as part of the EU accession process, providing respect for all ethnic communities. Schmid’s visit to the country also saw her hold meetings with, inter alia, PM Zoran Zaev and President Stevo Pendarovski, too.
