Radev Meets Representatives of Bulgarian Organisations in North Macedonia

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev held a meeting on Wednesday with representatives of associations of Bulgarian people in North Macedonia. At the meeting, Radev reaffirmed the support of official Sofia for the realisation and respect of the human rights of these people. “Bulgaria stands firmly behind you all, and we made this position clear before the EU too. Without proper cooperation with the Macedonian Bulgarians, we cannot act to protect their human rights. The Good-Neighbourliness Agreement clearly states that Bulgaria has the right to defend the rights of Bulgarians living in North Macedonia. Bulgaria is changing its policy towards North Macedonia, and we shall not give up on the veto for their integration in the EU until the security and respect of the rights of Bulgarian people living there are guaranteed by official Skopje,” Radev said.
