Kovacevski Assumes Office of Prime Minister of North Macedonia

PM Dimitar Kovacevski held an official meeting on Monday with President Stevo Pendarovski, introducing him to the new cabinet which was endorsed by the Parliament on Sunday and the programme of the new government. “The new government has a clear vision to above all deal with the challenges at hand, like the energy crisis, and to secure better living standards and prosperous future for our citizens. For that we need responsible and honourable management with the institutions of the state, somethings I am demanding from all the ministers included in my cabinet. In the upcoming period we shall focus on the energy crisis, and the processes of integration of our country in the EU. Now comes a new energy, a new time in which me and the government will remain open for more direct cooperation with all politicians, including those from the opposition, for the sake of the well-being of all our citizens,” Kovacevski said. Later on Monday, Kovacevski also held a meeting with outgoing PM Zoran Zaev, from whom he officially took over the office of Prime Minister of North Macedonia. Kovacevski thanked Zaev for the achievements realised during his mandate as PM, while Zaev wished him and all new Ministers good luck in the work and realisation of the programme of the new government.
