Petkov: History can’t be Forgotten and Ignored

North Macedonia’s approximation towards EU membership doesn’t start with membership, but rather a long negotiating period is ahead when the most sensitive issues can be being overcome, according to Bulgarian PM Kiril Petkov. He says for Bulgarian radio station Darik that history cannot be forgotten and ignored. However, Petkov adds that, at the same time, a wrong approach cannot be imposed either. According to PM Dimitar Kovacevski, the right approach has been chosen, by building bridges between the two countries. He notes that renewing the talks and cooperation in multiple areas will produce results at a political level too. Bulgarian MEP Ilhan Kyuchyuk says that the priority in the talks should be the package of Bulgarian demands.
