Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani met on Tuesday OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) Matteo Mecacci, who paid an official visit to Skopje. At the meeting, the interlocutors pointed out the good cooperation between ODIHR and institutions of the state in Skopje, with Osmani saying that the support from OSCE and ODIHR is very important for democratic and reform processes in the country. Osmani and Mecacci also discussed the possibilities and challenges North Macedonia is to face in 2023 when it is to take over the presidency over OSCE. Later on Tuesday, Mecacci also held a meeting with Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski, with whom he discussed the current situation in the country with hate crimes and the measures taken by MoI to deal with such cases, as well as measures for increase of the transparency of institutions. Spasovski said that MoI is ready to participate in numerous projects of OSCE/ODIHR for building of capacities for democratic institutions and respect of human rights.
