PM Kovacevski Meets US Assistant Secretary Escobar in Athens

Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski, who headed the governmental delegation at the Delphi Economic Forum in Greece, held a meeting in Athens with US Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs Gabriel Escobar. At the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the current situation in Ukraine, as well as the efforts of the Government of North Macedonia in dealing with the consequences of the economic and energy crises that hit Europe and the rest of the world. Kovacevski told Escobar that the government maintains stable continuity of its strategic and political determination to support active participation of the country in NATO, as well as for acceleration of the processes for EU integration. Escobar and Kovacevski agreed that any further delay of the EU integration processes would result in serious regional consequences and would open room for political influences from third parties, with Escobar accenting that the integration of North Macedonia in EU is a very important topic for the US.
