Europe Day and Victory over Fascism Day Marked

Monday saw both Europe Day and Victory over Fascism Day marked. As PM Dimitar Kovacevski said, the Macedonian people put itself on the right side in World War II in the fight against fascism. The victory over fascism is a victory for Europe, too, he added. Regarding Skopje’s strategic goal and integration road, the PM pointed to the historical benefits of peacefully resolving conflicts and overcoming differences. Extending congratulations on the occasion of 9 May, the EU Delegation Head, Ambassador David Geer, and US Ambassador Kate Marie Byrnes sent a message for a start of membership negotiations as soon as possible, which will provide stability and security in the region.
