Petkov: Meeting Conditions and Giving Guarantees Before Lifting Veto

It’s best for Bulgaria to be surrounded by stable neighbours that are part of the European family. For Albania and North Macedonia, there is place in the EU. For Bulgaria to be able to lift the veto for North Macedonia, first, all conditions should be met and guarantees should be given for fulfilment of the Good-Neighbourliness Treaty. That is the comment of Bulgarian PM Kiril Petkov, his press-service said, the Bulgarian medium 24casa (24hours) reports. The occasion is the interview Petkov had with the Romanian TV station and his comments on the EU path of Skopje and Tirana. According to 24hours, the interview was mistranslated and it cannot be concluded from it that Bulgaria will lift the veto before June, as Skopje hopes.
