Ahmeti: I Asked BPPO and SPO to Investigate My Assets First Before All Others

“I have had property since 2002, wealth left for me by my father,” DUI leader Ali Ahmeti says in an interview with TV21, asked about how rich he is and how many millionaires there are in his party. According to him, the fight against corruption should be a national front. In that regard, Ahmeti urges media to join. “We can’t fight the evil this way. Let them say how much they declared with the Prosecutor’s Office. Why do we demand vetting! We demand for there to be vetting in courts, prosecutor’s offices, police, and all politicians. Let everyone join vetting,” the DUI leader points out.  Ahmeti says that he asked both the Public Prosecutor’s Office and now-defunct Special Prosecutor’s Office to open cases against him and DUI, but they simply wouldn’t. “I didn’t ask for them to start with the others, I asked for them to start with me,” Ahmeti states. According to him, no case of corruption in which a party member official is involved has been reported to him.
