Varhelyi: Bulgaria Should Follow Greece’s Example

“As we celebrate the fourth anniversary of the signing of the Prespa Agreement, it is important to emphasize that as Greece and North Macedonia were able to overcome their dispute and resolve it by mutual agreement, we expect Bulgaria to step up its efforts and do the same,” said EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Oliver Varhelyi. He stressed that the Western Balkans belong to Europe and that EU leaders have unanimously expressed support for the region’s European perspective, and that cooperation with the Western Balkan partners is an EU geopolitical choice.
