Mickoski: I’ll Leave Politics if Our MPs Support Constitutional Changes

VMRO-DPMNE Leader Hristijan Mickoski said on Sunday that he is ready to completely withdraw from politics if any of the MPs of VMRO-DPMNE endorse in the Parliament the changes tot eh Constitution of North Macedonia. “The entire process concerning the EU integration and the relations with Bulgaria of our country is an act of treachery and calculations, in which our diplomacy completely capitulated. Like I warned, official Sofia is coming out with new demands for Skopje, which the government presents them as obligations on behalf of the EU for our integration there. EU indeed has honourable intentions for our country, but I cannot say the same for the current governments in Skopje and in Sofia. The best defence in this case for us is the Constitution, which they intend to make changes to. The government will continue to apply pressures over MPs, but I can assure you that none of the MPs from VMRO-DPMNE will endorse constitutional changes, and if such thing happens, I am ready to withdraw from politics,” Mickoski said, adding that he expects more provocations from Bulgarian politicians towards North Macedonia since new parliamentary election is to take place there.
