Economy Minister Kreshnik Bekteshi presented on Tuesday the newest plan of the Government of North Macedonia for saving energy and reducing the costs for the same, which is expected to enter into force on 1 September 2022. “We and the rest of Europe are about to face a rather challenging winter when it comes to the situation with the energy crisis. With this plan, we are to issue recommendations for households and companies to take measures in order to reduce the energy expenditure by 15% for the upcoming months, compared to the same months in the previous year. Unlike for these two sectors, the recommendations are obligatory for the institutions of the state, and they have to implement them from 1 September, for which they will all be obliged to file reports to the government. The saving recommendations will remain into force till 1 March 2023,” Bekteshi explained.
