Bytyqi: I Feel Very Bad About Booing Incident During “Peace Fest”

Deputy PM for Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyqi said in an interview for Kanal 5 that he feels very bad about the incident during the “Peace Fest” concert when the audience booed the presenter when she read the welcoming address in Macedonian language. “We still live in a divided society, with great distrust, and we are not yet mature enough to accept our differences. I felt very bad about this event. I believe in and I shall continue to pledge for the concept ‘one society for all’,” Bytyqi said. Asked to comment on the demands of VMRO-DPMNE for snap elections, Bytyqi said that now is a time of crises and the government should invest efforts in dealing with those crises, and that organising an election amidst crises would be a rather irresponsible act.
