At a press-conference on Monday, VMRO-DPMNE’s Dragan Kovacki presented a document that, according to the party, shows that PM Dimitar Kovacevski avoided military service by pretending, with a medical document, that he is unfit. “This is the document, an extract from the ARM’s records book, posted on social media. It is clearly seen from this document that Kovacevski was declared permanently unfit by doctors. This leads to two conclusions. Either Kovacevski abused the influence of his father, who was then Kumanovo’s Mayor and party official of SDS and received a fake doctor’s opinion or he is truly permanently unfit,” he noted. In response, SDSM reiterated that VMRO-DPMNE was abusing a health challenge and consequent surgery done 20 years ago. “Hoping they will switch the subject among the public about its 136-million-euro crime and corruption, VMRO-DPMNE has confirmed only the crime in its own ranks,” the ruling party said. The Defence Ministry said the same day it would open a procedure to determine accountability concerning publication of documents with classified content.
