PPO Celebrates European Day of Justice

“The working agreement for cooperation with the European Public Prosecutor’s Office that was signed yesterday is the best proof of the commitment with which the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of North Macedonia strives to reach European standards in its operations,” noted the Public Prosecutor of the Republic of North Macedonia Ljubomir Joveski, congratulating 25 October – European Day of Justice. “For the Public Prosecutor’s Office, it is the highest priority to ensure justice for the citizens of the country, which will directly contribute to the adoption of European values in the Macedonian society,” emphasized Joveski. The latest report of the European Commission registers a moderate progress of the country in fulfilling the obligations of chapters 23 and 24, part of which includes the work of the public prosecution. “The report lists the next tasks that lie ahead of us in the period ahead of us, but also correctly detects the challenges we face, especially in terms of material conditions and staffing. These are issues for the overcoming of which the engagement of all resources is required, in order to create all the necessary preconditions for faster progress in the key reforms,” Joveski added
