US Ambassador Aggeler on Constitutional Changes and Sanctions Issue

Answering questions on Tuesday at the panel discussion on North Macedonia’s challenges and future, held at the Youth Community Centre in Gostivar, US Ambassador Angela Aggeler said the constitutional changes should be adopted in order for the country to move forward regarding the discussions and process EU integration process. In her view, that is key, because the successful future of the country lies there. The US Ambassador added that she was aware that the changes were not a very favourite and popular step. Regarding the matter of sanctions, the Ambassador stated that they would encourage better behaviour and make elected officials, teachers, and healthcare workers act right and do their job with integrity because if they didn’t, they could face consequences.
