On Tuesday, Defence Minister Slavjanka Petrovska held a meeting with the US Special Envoy and Coordinator for the Global Engagement Centre, James P. Rubin. They discussed the harmful impact of disinformation, especially considering the security situation in the region and the Russian aggression against Ukraine, as well as about the ways in which the Interior Ministry is developing its capacities to deal with disinformation. “Hybrid attacks, including also disinformation, aim at reducing our societal resilience and causing internal divisions and distrust of citizens in institutions and their efficiency,” she noted. Special Envoy Rubin welcomed North Macedonia’s efforts to develop capacities to deal with disinformation. Also, he expressed readiness for the Global Engagement Centre to support Skopje through technical expertise and experiences.
