The State Audit Office (SAO) published the reports for the financial work of the political
parties SDSM, VMRO-DPMNE, DUI and Alternative. In the report for the financial
work of SDSM, SAO reveals issues with the procedures in which the party collects
membership fees from its branches, as well a sunresolved status of some of the objects
owned by the party. In the report for VMRO-DPMNE, SAO states that they cannot
conduct complete audit because some of the party’s assets are frozen by state authorities.
In the report for DUI, SAO voices suspicion over the objective representation of the
financial flows, as well as the fact that the party charged membership fees higher than the
legal limit, and many times after the legal deadlines for payment. In the report for
Alternative, SAO notes that even though its financial are generally correct, the party still
handles its finances in accordance with the Law on Non-profit Organisation instead of the
law on Political Parties. The full reports in Macedonian language are available at the
website of SAO.
