Judicial Council Elects 25 New Judges for Courts

At a session on Tuesday, the Judicial Council elected 25 new judges that will become part of courts in the country, including the Criminal Court in Skopje.

The Basic Courts in Strumica, Tetovo, and Bitola, too, are among those institutions that will get new judges. Skopje Basic Court will get eight judges. Among the new judges are Simona Bubevska- Mucunski (Basic Court Skopje), wife of Aerodrom Mayor and VMRO-DPMNE Vice- President Timco Mucunski and Biljana Ivanova (Basic Court Strumica), daughter-in-law of Parliament Secretary-General Cvetanka Ivanova.

The Criminal Court in the capital will get seven. Among those seven is Kiril Georgiev, son of Nake Georgiev, who resigned the same day as Judicial Council member, citing personal reasons. According to Judicial Council President Sasko Georgiev, the resignation of Nake Georgiev is a personal decision. However, he agrees that there is a legal dilemma regarding his son.
