EU Delegation Head Geer on Constitutional Changes Issue

In an interview with OhridNews.com, the EU Delegation’s Head, Ambassador David Geer, says the EU has an obligation to ensure that countries that are negotiating will not be blocked due to bilateral issues. As he points out, it is the responsibility of Brussels, too, to ensure that the accession process of Skopje will focus on important topics, such as the rule of law, the economy, and the environment, not on bilateral issues. Regarding the constitutional changes issue, the EU Delegation Head’s points out that is a result of the compromise made in July 2022, which will mean an open door for the second inter- governmental conference. However, Geer adds that all of that will depend on the decision of parties in Parliament.
