On Wednesday, PM Dimitar Kovacevski met in Skopje with Canada’s Foreign Minister, Melanie Joly. Today’s visit and talks will create a new impulse in strengthening bilateral relations and mutual cooperation, especially due to the fact it’s about the first visit by a Canadian Foreign Minister to North Macedonia, it was jointly highlighted.
At the meeting, PM Kovacevski expressed gratitude for the continued solid support from Canada aiming at implementation of reform processes in order to provide integration path progress of Skopje. Regarding bilateral relations, the PM welcomed the fostering of traditional friendship and rich cooperation between the two countries, especially at a multilateral level. Minister Joly expressed strong support for North Macedonia to continue the EU integration path, for which there is unambiguous support and interest from Canada for EU membership of North Macedonia as soon as possible. Special attention was paid to the issue of strengthening the economic ties between the two countries.
