At a discussion with journalists on Wednesday about the US State Department’s system of designating corrupt officials, Ambassador Angela Aggeler said regarding the designation of ex-Deputy PM Koco Angjusev that her country had solid evidence of his involvement in corrupt activities.
She stated that there were aspects she couldn’t comment in detail because privacy was taken into consideration even with regards to designated persons. The Ambassador refused to answer whether ex-PM Zoran Zaev will be the next person on the so-called blacklist. The same day, in a press-release, Zaev backed Angjusev and offered himself for cooperation.
“Without commenting and going into detail about the justification of the State Department’s decision to ban entry into the US of former Deputy PM Koco Angjusev, I will just note that, as was the case in the past, when I was the PM, I am now, too, available for all necessary answers and clarifications of certain topics of interest to our strategic friends and partners regarding any societal- economic and political topic in the country, including the grounds for suspicions towards Angjusev,” the ex-PM said.
