Government against Impunity of Former Officials

The Government says the initiative filed by a lawyer to the Constitutional Court over the assessment of two articles in the Criminal Code goes beyond any logic and against a state governed by the rule of law. The Government has proposed to the Constitutional Court not to accept the initiative filed by a lawyer, who represents a former official in court, in which he asks that that the responsibility over irregularities in public procurement procedures is transferred to the competent committees, thus exempting officials from any responsibility. “This initiative is aimed at impunity for crimes carried out by former officials charged by the Special Prosecutor’s Office,” said Government Spokesman Mile Bosnjakovski on Wednesday.
