Government Includes Eight MPs’ Demands in Draft Amendments

The Government has included the following demands by the eight MPs from the independent parliamentary group of VMRO-DPMNE and its coalition in the draft amendments: a guarantee for strengthening the Macedonian identity, a gradual change of the name for internal use and annulment of the constitutional changes if the name deal isn’t ratified by Greece. Friday saw the eight politicians express satisfaction and call for unification of parliamentarians aiming at Euro-integration of Macedonia as soon as possible. MP Vladanka Avirovic stated that despite the fact that she hadn’t been excluded from her party, the Socialist Party of Macedonia (SPM), she would be part of the independent group. That way, she will continue to represent SPM’s interests. The plenary session has been scheduled for 1 December.
