Joint Declaration Signed with NATO

With the signing of the joint declaration by the Commander of the NATO Supreme Allied Command Transformation General Philippe Lavigne and the Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Vasko Gjurcinovski officially completed the process of military integration of the Republic of Macedonia in the command structures and the Alliance. The ceremony for signing the joint declaration, in Villa Vodno, was attended by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Stevo Pendarovski and the Minister of Defence Radmila Sekerinska. President Pendarovski said that for the country, the path to full NATO membership was not easy, but that with the activation of NATO invitation for membership, the country gained greater international visibility and diplomatic potential for the realization of strategic political and economic interests. General Lavigne congratulated the country on the rapid and successful completion of the country’s military integration into the Alliance, emphasizing that North Macedonia can count on the solidarity and support of NATO allies.
