Media Agency First Report on Referendum Campaign Coverage

The Agency for Audio and Audio-Visual Media Services published the first report from the monitoring of media coverage of the referendum 2018 encompassing period 10-18 September 2018. “In conditions when there were no clear and equally active lines of agitation (for as opposed to against and/or boycott), it was hard for broadcasters to secure variety of views to their audience. Hence the preparedness of some to offer diverse positions could be seen in the invitations of analysts, political experts, historians and experts in other relevant areas that will allow more comprehensive insight into the issues to be considered for reaching informed decision on the referendum,” reads the report. It adds some media have failed to present different views.
