The Bulgarian National Security Council chaired by President Rumen Radev assembled on Monday afternoon in Sofia, in order to discuss the bilateral relations with North Macedonia and the further steps of the Bulgarian government upon that matter. “We should not be bound by deadlines and time frames. Simply, official Skopje needs to fulfil the obligations from the Good-neighbourliness Agreement from 2017. Still, we can make progress in certain areas, which will be additional impulse that will reinstate our mutual trust and give hope that solution of our disputes is possible. Still, official Sofia must retain the national policy,” Radev said after the meeting. The participants also signed a document which contains seven proposals about how the disputes with North Macedonia can be resolved, including the formation of working groups, something Bulgarian PM Kiril Petkov announced last week.
