DUI leader Ali Ahmeti has been fiercely criticised by VMRO-DPMNE over his description of TV stations Telma and Alfa as enemies of the Albanians. “We call on all relevant media organisations to immediately react to this labelling of media in the country,” the party said on Monday. In its press-release, VMRO-DPMNE also criticised PM Dimitar Kovacevski. “Ahmeti’s servant, Kovacevski, received instructions directly from Ahmeti to wage war with the media that tell the truth,” the party stressed. According to Kovacevski, the Government doesn’t influence media’s editorial policy, while Ahmeti himself should be asked about his stands. Commenting on Ahmeti’s speech, the Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services urged politicians to refrain from using speech discrediting media. Negative reactions came also from the Independent Trade Union of Journalists and Media Workers, as well as the Association of Journalists.
